Gillian was looking to brighten up her kitchen and give it a new lease of life. She had a good quality kitchen with solid wood doors so we suggested that she keep her doors and have them professionally spray painted with our high quality enamel paint. This gives a highly durable, washable smooth factory finish. We also painted the cupboards, cornice, pelmets, kickboards and facias to transform the feel of her kitchen. Gillian also wanted us to replace the worktops, sink, taps and flooring as well as decorate the kitchen and dining room.
After meeting with Gillian to go through options for her worktops, sink and taps she decided on an aged oak square edged laminate worktop and these were complimented with a black composite sink with sleek matt black dual lever swan neck tap.
As well as spray painting the kitchen cupboards, door and draw fronts we also spray painted the black backboards to match the colour of the walls. These were painted in the same high quality enamel paint that was used on the kitchen cabinets giving a highly durable, washable finish.
A new extractor hood and gas hob were also installed to continue the sleek black design of the sink and tap.
Gillian being a keen bird lover asked for a lovely bespoke twist by the installation of a glass splashback that we had a swallow etched into the corner of.
A luxury vinyl tile flooring was chosen to closely match the flooring that was already in the dining room which provided a nice flow from one room to the other.
The colours chosen by Gillian along with the worktops and new appliances have really lightened up the space and given it a lovely traditional yet sleek look that will now last for years to come.
"Our kitchen looks amazing! We are delighted with the finish on our cupboard doors, the quality of the decorating, joinery and flooring. Stephen is very organised, which is what you need when your kitchen is off limits, he had everyone organised to be where they needed to be at the right time, ensuring that everything ran smoothly. The whole team are understanding of the disruption to their clients and are respectful and considerate through what is a challenging time."
Liz came to us looking for a full new kitchen, including new units, worktops, integrated fridge freezer, dishwasher, sink and taps. She also wanted the kitchen and adjoining conservatory decorated which included painting the walls and ceilings, fitting new windowsills, new flooring and skirting boards to match her hallway.
We visited Liz's home and assessed her existing kitchen. Most of her existing base and wall units were in good condition so we recommended keeping these. The base unit under the sink had some water damage so we advised replacing this and she wanted a new wider larder unit which we replaced along with fitting an integrated fridge freezer unit next to this. She also asked for a new wall unit to be added next to the window. We gave Liz a host of options for styles of new doors, worktops, sinks and taps. We then gave her two itemised quotations, one included new doors for the kitchen units and the other was for us to spray paint her existing doors in the colour of her choosing. At this stage she decided to go with new doors as she wanted to change the style of door to a more contemporary shaker style door.
After several tweaks and variations to the design and specification of the kitchen Liz and Sara decided on going with Howdens shaker style Chelford kitchen doors in Marine Blue finished with cast iron Bevera doorknobs and cup handles from Hafele. Aged Oak square edged laminate worktops were chosen and these were complimented with a modern style black composite sink with sleek matt black dual lever swan neck tap.
With the conservatory and kitchen being susceptible to high traffic and people walking in with wet shoes we advised going with a luxury vinyl plank flooring due to its hard-wearing nature and being impermeable to water.
As you can see from the pictures, this kitchen has been transformed into a lovely, stylish and contemporary space for the whole family to enjoy. We feel that the finishes and colours that have been chosen work really well together and Liz and her family are really happy with the finished results.
" Stephen and his team were fantastic throughout the whole process of redesigning and refurbishing our kitchen. Their advice and professionalism were exceptional.
They met a variety of challenges with the knowledge, skill, innovation and hard work, that has left us with a beautiful, high-quality kitchen which will last a lifetime (and at a reasonable price!)
We would highly recommend Inspire Kitchen Makeovers to our friends and family, which is exactly what we are doing!"
Paul & Steve were looking to upgrade their kitchen but didn't want the disruption and cost of a whole new kitchen install. They had been struggling to find a reputable company that specialised in kitchen makeovers rather than new kitchen installs, so were pleasantly surprised to see our advert in the local press.
"Our kitchen had become tired and needed a new lease of life. We use our kitchen a lot, not just to prepare food and eat but also to work in during the day."
"We knew that most of the existing kitchen units were in good condition and so it didn't feel right to simply rip them out. Most kitchen companies don't work with existing kitchen units and insist on installing new ones."
"Inspire Kitchen Makeovers philosophy of only replacing what needs to be replaced whilst offering so many options to bring our kitchen up to the standard of a new one spoke volumes to us."
We had an initial meeting with Paul in early August to discuss what we could do for them and what Paul and Steve's ideas were for their kitchen.
We had subsequent design meetings over the next few months offering different options from a variety of suppliers before settling on the final design and price.
"We were very impressed with how closely they worked with us and how accommodating they were with new ideas and design changes during this process, always offering a number of options from different suppliers with different budgets rather than simply giving us a price. They always went the extra mile to find us the best deal, mixing and matching different items from different manufacturers and suppliers which saved us a lot of money."
"We really felt fully involved in every detail of the design process whilst receiving excellent advice along the way."
Whilst Paul and Steve were happy with the general layout of thier existing kitchen they wanted to remove the units above the breakfast bar and extend the wall units along that wall. The final specification for the kitchen included the following:
New door and draw fronts from Hafele
New soft close door hinges from Hafele
New door & draw handles from Hafele
New wall cupboard from Howdens
New Quartz worktop and backboards from Howdens
New integrated 85L 3 bin storage unit from Hafele
New integrated dishwasher
New LED strip lights above and under the wall units
New kickboards with integrated LED pin lights
New LED concealed spot downlights in the ceiling
New chrome plug sockets and light switches
Refurbished, sanded and spray painted windowsill and all skirting boards and radiators
Painted walls and ceiling
"We are so happy with our kitchen now. The attention to detail taken by the team was really impressive and has resulted in us getting the kitchen we dreamt of for half the price we had been quoted for a full new kitchen. The fact that they did everything including decorating, electrics and plumbing made our life so much easier and they had the whole job completed in 1 week whilst we were away on holiday."
"To come back from holiday and walk into the transformed kitchen literally took our breath away and we have since recommended them to a number of our friends who have been thinking of getting their kitchens done."
